The Center for Liquefied Natural Gas Releases
Informative "LNG: The Facts" Video
WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 29, 2011) -- The Center for Liquefied Natural Gas (CLNG) has released a new video describing essential facts about liquefied natural gas (LNG) that answer and explain the public's top five questions about LNG.
This informative and educational video clearly explains what liquefied natural gas is, its safety features in use and shipping, its reliability, and why it is needed in America.
"In our ongoing efforts to enhance public education and understanding about LNG, CLNG has created this video to answer and clearly explain the most pressing questions about LNG – answered by the people who know it best – from an LNG ship captain to a President and COO of an LNG import terminal, this video will give people a much clearer picture of what LNG is all about," said Bill Cooper, president of the Center for Liquefied Natural Gas.
Highlights of the video include views of the inner workings of an LNG ship from the ship's bridge (the ship's command center), to scenes of the control, engine rooms, and crews, to the Coast Guard's role in securing LNG ships. Also appearing in the video is CLNG's president Bill Cooper performing an LNG demonstration where he safely drinks water from a beaker that he had just poured LNG into in an effort to demonstrate LNG's safety characteristics.

CLNG is a trade association of LNG producers, shippers, terminal operators and developers, and energy trade associations. Its goal is to enhance public education and understanding about LNG by serving as a clearinghouse for LNG information. For more information, visit www.lngfacts.org.
